Jim Lansing's role in the Shearer Horn was not as large as implied. John Hilliard (later of Altec) was the project manager and Lansing and Blackburn developed the woofer and compression driver. Bob Stephens designed the treble horns and the basshorns were a RCA design by way of Harry Olson. All under the leadership of Hilliard.

Ohh JBL ! the dream, still the great dream all over the world from world leading factory (real factory while 80% of the others just assemble components made under specification and impossible to find when problem arrive) JBL it's 70% of the greatest recordings from fabulous 60's, 70's and 80's withe legendary 43 serie (still in a lot of recording studio like HAMMOND B3 organ)Today, JBL is still the reference in studio (LSR SERIE) live concerts with VERTEC and cinemas with state of the art system
