That would be impossible my friend, because matter that travels with speeds close to speed of light are gaining mass.

Hence achieving speed of light is literally impossible with conventional planes.

i just looked it up on wikipedia, and the sound is loud because the lightning is hot enough to create such a change in temperature in the air that the gas molecules expand outward in a shock wave. that shock wave creates the vibration in the air that we hear.

that's actually not true. lightning cannot "cut thru [sic] the air." that would mean that it is destroying matter, and that violates a very basic law of physics.
