"Red Bird" by Paul Larson

Red Bird(Words and Music by Paul Larson. October 1, 2007.)In the heart of the little red bird,
There is a song, that every one can sing.
It reaches out and brings us in,
Makes us feel so young again.

While I watch the little red bird,
Flutter here, then land over there.
The song may change, but the tunes' the same,
It doesn't matter, I love it either way.

Little red bird why don't you sit a spell,
Sing your songs so pure and sweet.
Little red bird why don't you stay a while,
Need some company.

In the heart of the little red bird,
Is a place where we all feel at home.
Like a fire reaching through the night,
Breakin' us in, so together and not alone.

Little red bird why don't you sit a spell,
Sing your songs so pure and sweet.
Little red bird why don't you stay a while,
In need your company.

Little red bird why don't you fly for me,
Spread your wings into another day.
Little red bird you're all that's left for me,
Hope to see in form another way.

Little red bird why don't you sit a spell,
Sing your songs so pure and sweet.
Little red bird why don't you stay a while,
Need your company.
Need your company,
hmmm, hmm.

This song always reminds me of this particular Robin.

When I looked after the Owls at the Zoo there was a very brave little Robin that would go into the enclosure and pick at scraps of food. I got to know this little Robin over many months and then one day I went into the enclosure and I found a cloud of red feathers all over the enclosure, I lost a little friend that day.

It's that time of year when our Robin bird here in England starts to befriend us, before the colder weather comes along.I have a sad story to tell you about a Robin I once knew...

Your voice is right on the influences you post there. Reminds me a bit of John Denver.. and others. Such a clear voice. lovn the sound!
