Part 3:It still hurts when I think of the chances that they lost due to the ignorance of fellows like Wayne Zahn and all the other old guys.Still I love the memories from Tiffin. Part 2:However I remember how critical I saw the future of that company when the management of National always proclaimed that success of the past secures the future. Well, it did not, as you know. The company went bankrupt and many jobs (750 in TIffin and 600 in Nuremberg, Germany) were lost. It was not due to the market situation back then. It was due to the lack of keeping ahead of the competition.

What a touching story of that little town that has been part of my history. I am German. My first visit to the U.S. in 1981 brought me to Tiffin, OH where I spent several months in the Riverview Inn. It was a quiet nice place at that time.I worked as German Sales Manager of National Machinery. The company was large and prosperous then.
