Eyewitness Gives Account of WWII Bomber Crash

Nikola Tomic gives his personal account at the site of the crash of the B-17G Bomber shot down by Nazis on July 7, 1944 when he was ten years old. The bomber crashed about 1 kilometer from his farm in Hum Vocinski, Croatia, near the border of Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We couldn't search the site, as there are likely still mines there left over from the war from 1991-1995. Ljubo Kutkganovic, the physical education teacher from the city of Vocin, translates Nikola Tomic's account in the background. The crew members that were killed in action on July 7, 1944, included:2nd Lt. I'm glad some people appreciate this video. My grandfather was Carl Sorensen. My dad had just been born a little over a week earlier. My wife and I went to Croatia on vacation and rented a car to meet with the town officials. We would like to establish a memorial at this location at some point in time, if the mines can be cleared. He apparently would be supportive. If any surviving relatives are interested in participating in this initiative, please contact me.
