Fostoria, OH and More: 4-10-09
On the first day of my vacation, Rich and I headed out to Bellevue, Fostoria and Tiffin. It was a rainy, dark day, so some clips may be heavily edited to avoid the appearance of rain drops on the lens. Enjoy!Train 1: We start off in Bellevue where we see 344 crawling into town with a two SD70s, a GP38-2 High-hood, and an SD40-2 High-hood.Train 2: CSX number 2 is on the lead of a Southbound-Westbound coal train as we arrive in Fostoria, and trailing are two BNSF SD70MACsTrain 3: K649 is the first of a few ethanol trains today, and is led by a single AC4400CWTrain 4: K679 is right behind K649, and has an AC4400CW and a C40-8W on the point.Train 5: K674 is the third ethanol train in a row, and has an ES44DC and an Ex-LMS C40-8W leading.Train 6: Two AC4400CWs take K381 west over Poplar St.Train 7: K179 heads south over the NS diamonds at Columbus Ave. with an AC4400CW and an ES44AC. For those of you who are unaware or are planning to go to Fostoria, South is railroad west and North is railroad east.Train 8: Q216 is the next train to appear, and takes the northeast wye and heads east. The lead unit is CSX number 1, the Spirit of West Virginia, and another AC4400CW trails.Train 9: Q375 blows the horn several times for F Tower as he heads west with an SD70MAC and an AC4400CW.Train 10: Q381 comes through with quite the colorful consist today: A CSX AC4400CW, an NS C40-9W, and 4 new BNSF ES44DCs straight out of Erie.Train 11: Q637 heads south towards the B&O diamonds. Since the oncoming shot was riddled with rain drops, I added audio from that clip to the clip of the single ES44DC going away.Train 12: A C40-9W and an SD60M take 306 east past Columbus Ave.Train 13: Q159 is the next train to make an appearance, and tow AC4400CWs are in charge.Trains 14 and 15: Q151 heads towards the northeast wye with two BNSF ES44ACs, the second being the oh so controversial 6228. As Q151 negotiates the northeast wye, T923 takes the Southewest wye onto the C&O with an SD70MAC and an ES44ACTrain 16: Q368 is the last CSX train in Fostoria, and is led by an SD50-2 and an ES44DC.Train 17: NS 307 is the final train at Fostoria, and has a C40-9W and an SD70M-2 on the point.Train 18: We move onto Tiffin where we see Q634 racing into town with a pair of ES44DCs on the point.Train 19: An eastbound coal train cruises over the Sandusky River with an ES44DC and a C40-8WTrain 20: We head back to Bellevue for our final shots of the day as 304 slowly moves out of the yardwith a pair of C40-9Ws on the head end. 856 can also be seen to the south waiting to take the transfer onto the Fostoria District.Train 21: The last train of the day is 344 heading back out onto the Toledo Line, and has a C40-9W, an SD70, and two SD40-2 High-hoods on the head end.
