Tiffin Dragon Martial Arts - Race Vs Ramone Sparring


The Martial Arts program at Tiffin University is one of the best in the area As the semester is getting under way the students are warmed up and getting ready for some competitions and testing.Here, Race(shorter) and Ramone(taller), two of our veteran members do some continuous sparring. When preparing for tournaments we practice point sparring, but any other time we focus on continuous to increase cardio and give better real-life training.

When you rush in, you're also sticking your chin out like crazy. Someone who doesn't panic and back up is going to inflict some serious damage. Probably best not to switch stances until you're at least comfortable with one.

Less fancy footwork, more basics. Your footwork looks fast, but you lose it quick under pressure. Keep it simple, work on it some more before you try to look fancy because you're both off balance half the time

You guys need to remember to always be in a 3 point position. 1 heel off the ground. You both do it when you are at distance but as soon as you close to punching range your back heels drop. You want to keep them up for better mobility and weight transfer. Other than that looks really good. I like the movement of the taller guy but you should maybe work on moving at a 45 towards your opponent instead of away, keeps turning him but is more offensive. Should help keep you in control of the pace.

big guy, u have good physical attributes, good size, decent condition and flexibility. but u need to man up and fight instead of dancing. you practice with the intention of getting stronger not looking cool. it was pathetic the way u let a fat shorty bully u. sorry for being harsh but this is the internet and that's all the character count I get to post here.
