Honestly, it's going to be very difficult to prevent him from grabbing his own arms while attempting the armbar. However, if you'd like to discuss it further, we have an entire message forum dedicated to conversation like this. Yes, I know the counters for when the opponent grabs his own arms. BUT, what is the best way from PREVENTING him from grabbing his arms in the first place ?Thanks !!!

You should visit the site and register an account so that you can check out the Brown belt mount chains. The chains have some counters for when your opponent grabs his own arm.
