"yo-yo ma's version sounds flat,incomplete, and passionless" are you kidding me...yo-yo ma's version is full of passion...nothing by bach sounds flat...and it is far more complete then rostropovich's version

That's an unfair assessment. Yo-yo Ma's version is most certainly not flat and passionless. IMO, he plays with a DIFFERENT KIND of passion. A darker, more melancholic tone. Whereas Rostropovich is more exuberant and illicits a different emotion, one that which you might identify more with. Don't mistaken difference in approach with difference in ability.
