Swedish Helicopter Crash

6/21/05 - STOCKHOLM, SwedenI got this footage from last week. In the paper they say the "video showed the rotor blades of the Lithuanian-registered MI-2 helicopter hitting a tree, then clipping the top off a lamp post."I never noticed the lamp being cut down, but you can clearly see it if you focus on it. This was the guy's birthday present, a helicopter ride! Instead he got a helicopter ride to the hospital.

The crash was caused because this vile bitch sabotaged the helicopter in order to collect on her husband's life insurance.

(cont.) The report from the Swedish Accident Investigation Board (the equivalent of the NTSB) places no blame on the pilot for this accident and notes that his actions after the crash helped prevent the accident from escalating into a disastrous fire.Google for "Report RL 2007:15e" (include the quotes) and the first hit will be the accident report in english. Read it before you post stupid comments of the kind "ZOMFG!!11 IDIOT PILOT lulz!!"

Re-post: The crash was caused by partial engine failure as the fuel diffuser for one of the engines got blocked, reducing power output of the engine to about half and unexpectedly preventing rising above ground effect. The pilot did not want to set down again because onlookers were dangerously close and he was not able to maintain stable hover. Instead he opted to gain speed since that would add lift. He had scouted the path beforehand and made the call that there would be clearance. (cont'd)
