Thank you for posting. I never even knew this performance existed. Nina Simone once compared herself in an interview to Maria Callas. She was annoyed that the interviewer compared her to Billie Holiday. She was of course spot on. Her ferocious talent extended beyong her singing to her song-writing and piano. The fact that she is not as well-known as Ella, Billie or Aretha is a disgrace. Watching this performance one can see why. There's just no room for genius in pop culture.

I have read about these soul people, but i tell you seeing her is not the same as reading about her. She is just too awesome. She definitely touches my soul, deeeeep down.
