No it's not two years later, he went 8 months into the future when he turned the wheel. The O6 got off the island around the very beginning of Jan 2005. The last three seasons of Lost have only covered around a month each starting with September 2004 when the plane crashed and when the show started.

Also Kate probably saw Claire before Jack moved in with her because her hair is still curly in that scene and in Something Nice Back Home.
