Boy this thing could knock out some ground based vehicles easily tanks the ju-87 would eat them for lunch

the problem was, that they were mostly shot down over england by hurricanes and spitfires, because the german hunter who were supposed to protect them had a too short range and could not protect them long enough

I would disagree, the P-47 was faster, more manuveurable, had a longer range, and could carry more munitions.
