Yeah that explains why the Hell Cat and the Corsair whooped the shit out of the Zero in every engagement. The final count was 19 to 1 in the Hell Cat's favo. The mustang never even really went up against Zero's so that's a dumb comparison. They weren't carrier based planes, and most of the pacific air battles were launched from carriers.
