ok man, no problem...after all, the different styles of karate are like paths to the same mountain. And maybe you are right, sport karate is more athletic than traditional ones, for me is only a matter of approach...lol

I'm sorry your right about that. Okinawan karate IS still practiced that way!...lol. But In my opinion I think sport has made it more popular and exercises a lot more athletic than it used to be. Though, ideals have change to "one hit one kill" to "competition". Historically we as Karate-ka still are taught its origins. I'm sorry if I came across pompous, They're all good! Karate rocks. Okinawan, Japanese, WKF competition, I'm glad I'm a part of it!. and yes I am shotokan. lol

mmmm i dont think so....okinawan karate i still practiced THIS way....and i dont know what styles you think are more "faster and eficient"..if you are talking about japanese styles of karate like shotokan, i have to disagree...for my these styles are more sport and "point match" oriented, but not more eficient...just my opinion

Karate is no longer practiced like this anymore. We actually have more evolved faster more efficient styles. But it's nice to know where our origins come from.
