11-Year-Old Billy Preston with Nat 'King' Cole


The late Billy Preston (9/9/46-6/6/06) age 11 years and 2 months, performs Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill" with Nat "King" Cole on Nat's 11/5/57 program, (Season 3, Episode 8).Includes a 2003 comment by Nat's daughter, Natalie Cole.

Narration by Dennis Haysbert.

"Blueberry Hill", published in 1940, features music written by Vincent Rose with lyrics by Al Lewis and Larry Stock. Originally recorded in 1941 by Gene Autry for the movie "The Singing Hill", it was also covered by Glenn Miller&His Orchestra that same year, (with the vocal performed by Ray Eberle). When Fats Domino recorded it in 1956, it became an international hit.

And as much talent, I must say. Too bad Natalie Cole is underrated - she could sing pop, R&B and jazz with equal ease. There isn't one album of hers that I don't like, but they are so hard to find.

Wow! This is very cool. I found it while watching Billy Preston's video Nothing From Nothing. Billy like Little Stevie Wonder showed great ability at such a young age. Peace.
