No wonder so many 3rd World countries despise us. It's the American taxpayer that funds the IMF, which in turn "loans" our money to these poorer nations with "strings attached". What a rip-off! Not only for we, the taxpayers, but for the recipient countries as well. The money that's repaid to the IMF doesn't come back to the taxpayers, IT GOES TO THE IMF!

About spot on. Aid to third world nations come with so many strings attached that you basically tie up a nation wealth and resources in interest payments, control their politics and direct the host nation's economy. This is why we have terms such a "Banana nation."
