This is called the east coast swing. They're just doing the very basic one step swing so don't expect too much from this video. There is more to this dance when you get to the triple steps which has more rhythm and movement to it. I personally prefer the west coast swing.

Ohh I see, you actually KNOW what you are talking about. I was just hypothesizing that they might be really good but dumbing it down so people can do it easier, that was half of my point really. I am going to trust your judgment though, you can probably tell much better than I can.

I agree there's no need to denounce all of expert village, but it's not unreasonable to question the "experts" who put up a video. Just because I may know more about a subject than you, doesn't make me an expert. Again, the teachers in this video do know more swing dancing technique than someone who knows nothing, but they hardly qualify as "experts".

That's where the criticism comes from. I don't consider myself an expert in swing dancing, but I know way more about it than these people.
