Al Jazeera talks to Dmitry Medvedev - 26 Aug 08


Russia has recognised Georgia's breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states.The action is likely to inflame tensions with the West, but Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's president, told Al Jazeera that he has no intention of beginning a new Cold War.

I like Putin better because he is a stronger leader but I think that Medvedev has lots of potential. I think Putin has taken him under his wing and instructed him on how to run Russia. Id hate to have his job.
