you can carve the form out of a block of Styrofoam and then sand it smooth, and for the drying process a freeze drier can speed it up some

The idea is remove ALL flesh possible so formaldahyde only work on very small parts you cannot reach, by injection. The borax and formalin will preserve and dry these small areas yes. I STRESS you need to clean the interior of the head out anyway. Brains etc. The formaldahyde, like the borax, is availale at chemists. You may have to order. Its not used neat and is watered down. Be careful how you handle and breath neat formaldahyde! If you freeze dry animals, no such problems! :-) Or skills!

Aha! Found out I was blocked by mistake and can now reply to you all!! Borax is the powder (old fashioned washing crystals) from any pharmacist? This video remains here so must have just been a one off glitch for you fishnut? :-) Yes a salmon could be done - but better if you caught it, and yes sowing the belly would be delicate! But be careful with the borax and you can still enjoy the meal!? What about making one in wood and paiting it carefully would be worth more as an art form?
