Interesting that he did not bitch about SourceSafe (at least in the first 5 mins when I was still interested.) Maybe Google asked him not to?

He's a bad speaker, so you're getting hung up on irrelevant details (how it helps Linus) while missing the benefits that apply to everything from corporate projects to small team projects and even individual projects. The cheap branching and merging is incredible. Even for a solo dev, the performance, offline capabilities, and variety of tools to manipulate the tree are unbelievable. Convincing yourself that it doesn't live up to the hype is retarded, go try it, you won't be disappointed.
